Laparoscopic Surgery

Precision Surgery, Compassionate Care

Laparoscopic, or “minimally invasive,” surgery is a specialised technique for performing surgery. It is also known as keyhole or band-aid surgery due to the size of the surgical incisions. Laparoscopic surgery uses several 0.5-1 cm incisions, and each incision is called a “port.” At each port, a tubular instrument known as a trocar is inserted. Specialised instruments and a special camera known as a laparoscope are passed through the trocars during the procedure.

This form of surgery can be done for a wide range of procedures, from hernias to tumours and ulcers. Ruby Hall Clinic, one of the best hospital for laparoscopic surgery was one of the first few to start with a state-of-the-art centre with advanced technology and skills at the hands of internationally reputed surgeons, way back in 1998.
